Fantasy Island
Horse Information Registered Number: 1460 Nickname: Fanny or Fan Age: Yearling (Y12) Breed: Thoroughbred Colour & Markings: Grey (chestnut-based) Height: 16 hands Gender: Filly Personality: Straying rather far from the ideally-tempered horses that her parents are, Fanny can be a vindictive little witch. She dislikes females of any species, apt to pin her ears judt before she bites or kicks at horse or human alike. She's the type to do basically whatever she can get away with - she loves new handlers, and will act like an absolute boar to them if they don't know she's capable of standing still. She's a lot better with men than women, though we're not sure why. She's not perfect for them, but she's more likely to behave without the use of force. In her stall, Fanny can be a bit territorial, so she's often brought into the aisle if any work needs to be done. It's safer for everyone that way, and she tend to behave a little more. When she's being ridden, it's just as stated above - if she has someone experienced up that knows she's capable of doing well, she performs like a charm. If it's someone inexperienced who thinks that her act at being uncivilized is the truth, then there might be trouble. In the post parade, the pony rider has to be a gelding without exception if they don't want to be bitten, and they have to be careful that she's distanced out of kicking range from other horses at all times. Needless to say, she's the boss filly out in the paddock, and is very vocal about her demands. You can always tell Fanny's around other horses from the dramatic squeals and screams that can be heard from around the farm.
Pedigree: Winged Romeo x Tsubasa's Dream Pedigree Comments: Winged Romeo, by A Fine Romance out of Flying Loose, is a grade three stallion owned by Star Thoroughbreds. The stallion was a good racehorse, winner of eight races, though rather undistinguished as far as the top races are concerned. Fantasy Island is his only foal thus far. Winged Romeo's sire, A Fine Romance, reached grade four status in races of a mile or more. Not much else is known at this time. his dam, Flying Loose, is much more well-established in her accomplishments. A distinguished racer in her own right, Flying Loose reached grade one status and is best known for her win in the Dubai Filly Cup. Flying Loose is also the dam of three other foals, Simply A Flyer, Loose Truth, and Flyin' Out Loud. Simply A Flyer was an outstanding race mare, winning 25 of 59 starts, including the Melbourne Cup twice, the Universal Cup, the Cox Plate, and the Breeders' Cup Turf. Simply A Flyer was inducted into the GHF Hall of Fame. Loose Truth was lightly raced during her career, but she did win 7 of 19 starts. Flyin' Out Loud, only raced as a two-year-old thus far, won the Demoiselle Stakes.
Tsubasa's Dream was not heavily raced, nor was she incredibly distinguished, though she did win three of her races. Tsubasa's Dream has only one other foal, a Y13 weanling.
Racing Information Prospect Record: 0-0-0-0 Race Record: 0-0-0-0 Consistency: n/a Dirt: Good Turf: Great Distance: 8-11 Leg Type: Closer Racing Style: She loads easily, especially if she's the first to go in. The gate attendants can keep her pretty occupied while the others load, playing with her nose and allowing her to lip at their fingers. Once her jockey gets into position, she knows it's game time. Despite her ornriness, this filly loves to run when it comes down to it. Her heart beats faster, and her feet start to dance, eager for the gate to spring open. When it finally does, Fanny comes out like a rocket, and is generally in the lead for half a moment. However, she slows up enough to let every horse by her, as if eyeing her competition from the very start. She is normally right on the heels of the last horse, biding her time despite the dirt kicked back on her. When her jockey asks it, at about three furlongs out, Fanny starts to kick in. She picks the horses off, one by one, coming up the outside. She digs in down the stretch, driving relentlessly toward the leader. Even when she passes them, she doesn't slow down. Winning by a nose really isn't her style - she'd rather take it by five. Jockey: Alex Mershir
