Jericho
Horse Information Registered Number: 1604 Nickname: Jericho Age: Yearling (Y12) Breed: Thoroughbred Colour & Markings: Dark Bay Height: 15.3 hands Gender: Colt Personality: Jericho is definitely one of the favorites in the barn. He's got a ridiculously sweet personality, and doesn't pick favorites - he's always excited whenever someone walks into the barn. He's really quirky, quick to run and kick his heels whenever he's turned out. To the dismay of the stable hands, he almost always finds the muddiest spot in the paddock to roll in, and if he's still wet, he enjoys literally rubbing it on anyone that comes to visit him, mostly to hear their reaction. He's not really the type of horse to spook, but he'll get silly and carry on if he knows someone's watching. He's something of a showman, and loves to hear the oohs and aahs of an audience. He's just as showy with other horses, squealing and kicking and acting, really, like a mare in heat - but it's all good fun. When working with humans, he cuts out his antics, since he's been taught to get down to business. Because he loves the reactions of winning, he strives to do as his rider asks, fighting past every horse to make it to the front.
Pedigree: RS Jury Duty x Admiral's Holiday Pedigree Comments: RS Jury Duty is a very fiery and spirited guy. Dude has this unbreakable determination to win. He won't give up, even if he is at breaking point he will go all out every day to be the best. He can and will nip, as well as rear, but he would never hurt a fly. Spirited and full of energy he is as wild as they come and will rarely show affection. He's already watching the ladies, but he hasn't done anything yet. He can be quite sly and cunning, just waiting for that perfect opportunity. He will take any chance in the races to show off though, and so he does have that rare playful side which just captures your heart. He has only one other foal that we know of, owned by Akita Rose Stables' Grade One Stallion, Jazzman. Jazzman is sire of the dynamic juveniles, Livin' the Jazz and Jazzaway and the newborn Jazzasoleil. AR Jury Duty's sire is none other than Grade One stallion, GS Judgement. With a record of 25-14-5-4 (92% Consistency), this stallion in his entire career placed outside of the money only twice. A major feat. AR Jury Duty's dam is none other than Lady's Little Sword - sired by Grade One Stallion Authur's Excalibur. So you can see AR Jury Duty comes from proven and solid bloodlines.
Admiral's Holiday is a retired Grade One mare sired by the Grade One, MHS Triple Crown Winner, Admiral's Revenge. This stallions retired with a record of 91-38-25-23 (94% Consistency) and major wins to his name. His sire is Intrepid's own proven stud, War Admiral and proven brood, Rosalind. Admiral's Holiday's dam is Summer Holiday. She is a mare that never broke her maiden, but comes from proven foreign lines. A feisty mare Holly is difficult to handle even for the most experienced of handlers. A gorgeous looker she's loaded with racing talent and would rather race her heart than raise her foals and graze on Whitebrook's lush paddocks. Stubborn as a mule she'll do things when she feels like doing it. Holly comes from one of the most influential broodmares lines. Her dam Personal Ensign won the BC Distaff and Holly's half-sister My Flag won the Juvenile Fillies and Storm Flag Flying, My Flag's daughter won the Juvenile Fillies as well. Her only foal is Admiral's Holiday.
Racing Information Race Record: 0-0-0-0 Prospect Record: 4-0-0-1 Consistency: n/a Dirt: Great Turf: Great Distance: 9-12 Leg Type: Closer Racing Style: Jericho is a big horse with a lot of muscle, so it's not uncommon for him to come slow out of the gate. At first we feared it may be a downside for him, but as it stands, he seems to like being at the back of the pack. This may change as he matures, but for now he settles at the back end of the pack, ten or so lengths off of the leaders if it's a big field, a little less if there aren't as many. If it's a hot pace, he's willing to stay back further if his jockey asks it of him. He doesn't fight the jockey, but he does need to be held back - as soon as he's given his head, he digs in. His jockeys tend to make their move gradually, moving slowly, horse by horse, until he's in contention for the lead entering the stretch. Jockey: Alex Mershir
